Our History
Los Portales Supermarket is a family-owned Mexican store that has been serving the Wilmington, North Carolina community with authentic Mexican and Latin American products. From our humble beginnings as a small tienda mexicana, we have grown into a beloved Latino supermarket and international market — a destination for groceries, fresh bakery items, and traditional cuisine.
What started as a small Mexican grocery store has expanded to two Wilmington locations, each offering the same commitment to quality, authenticity, and community that our family values. Our Hispanic market features a full panadería mexicana (Mexican bakery), carnicería (meat market), tortillería with fresh handmade tortillas, productos mexicanos, Mexican candy, money transfer services, and bill payment services.
